Have directv and want to add a dvr?
I want to add a directv dvr to my systems. I would rather have a non-tivo one. If its a rcvr-dvr combo can i swap directv from the rcvr to the new dvr
the cards from the old rvcr to the dvr can i swap them?

How can I transfer a movie that I recorded on my Directv DVR to my computer. It has a USB Port but is not a Tivo. There is no option to record to something on the menu. Please Help.
Due to the way my house was wired, it is difficult to run a new cable from the the satellite to the DirecTV dvr (tivo). Can the current wire be split so that there are two inputs for the TiVo? If you know of any other ways that to acheive this without running a new cable, that would be great to know too. Thanks in advance!
I have the DirecTV DVR and I want to save some of the clips I’ve TiVoed onto DVD or just save them onto CD, how can I do this?
I recorded various programs on my (purchased) DirecTV DVR (mfr = RCA?) when I was a subscriber. After moving to another house, I cancelled the DirecTV subscription but would like to recover programs (copy to tape or disc/DVD, or to watch in real-time) from the DVR. Without the DirecTV service, I have no menu, no User Interface, but the hardware connections (audio and video out, etc.) are still available. One idea: if the DVR hard drive uses a standard format, can I connect it to my PC and copy "files" from it that way? With what software? THANKS
