Can I copy shows from one DVR to another?
My parents have Dish network and I do not. I usually set the recorder on their dvr and watch the shows whenever I am there. However I found a DVR-625 DVR for under , the same as what they have. Is there a way to copy shows from their DVR hard drive to my dvr Hard drive and if so, what software? I do know that I would have to open them up, and connect them to a computer IDE. Or maybe I could use a USB drive, save the shows to it and then transfer to my dvr. The only issues that I have are, Is it pssible, what software to use, and what folders to copy? Thanks.

There is no technical way of transferring content from one DVR to another - plugging one into the other does not accomplish transfer and there are many links at the site below that describe other functions except DVR to DVR transfer. If DVR to DVR transfer were easy, someone would have posted a more comprehensive resource by now.
