When is DirecTV going to releas its new HD DVR using mpeg4 compression?
I live in Tennessee and have DirecTV HD Service. I have had a DirecTV Tivo for several years and recently upgraded to the HD Tivo. To my displeasure I have since found out that there is a new format for HD broadcasts that this new Tivo is not capable of receiving. Further DirecTV doesn't have a consumer DVR that will receive this new format. Finding information on a release date for the new DVR is tough. Does anyone here have any information concerning the release date for the new MPEG4 HD DVR from DirecTV?

As far as i know….the HD DVR that you are looking for is still in development…….Usually when new equipment is available we are trained in advance for it……so far…..i havent heard anything……try calling Directv a few times back to back inquiring about the DVR and someone may give you more details….also try emailing them directly…..
