I want to convert it to a format such as wmv, but I don't know how to get to it on my computer to be able to drag a TV show into a converter.

By default, in XP MCE, the files are in-all users, documents, recorded TV. In Vista MCE, they are in a similar location-search for "recorded TV" folder. You can change the location in the Recorded TV settings, in the MCE menu. They can also be in multiple locations on multiple drives, and MCE will find them and provide a unified recorded TV listing. Be advised that if the recorded TV is copy protected, the conversion software won't work.
