i have 4 channel security system that are connected directly to my desktop. i had a problem with the hard drive and its not working anymore. now i have a new hard drive but what i need the software.

I have a Dish Network DVR 625, a Sanyo flat screen tv, and a Magnavox MWD2205 VHS recorder/DVD player. I would like to record from the DVR to the VHS recorder. First of all can it be done ? And if so how ? For the technically challenged (such as myself) is there a drawing/diagram as well as a written 'how to' that can show me what I need to do ? Thanks in advance for your help !

I'm trying to buy a Tivo or DVR to record shows and transfering to my computer or ipod. Which brand offers that. Or is it better to get a media card and let my computer be the DVR?
